Hero WOD’s: A Tribute to Our Fallen Heroes

Post Picture.png

Nothing motivates me more during a workout than knowing that I’m doing it to honor and remember a fallen Soldier. These are the “give it all you got” workouts for a reason. These Heroes gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we could continue to enjoy the freedoms we have to this day, and that deserves the utmost recognition and respect. After having just observed Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day, I wanted to provide a list of CrossFit’s Hero Workouts and an article on what they are, how they came to be, and why they matter so much to the CrossFit and Armed Forces communities.

Do not fret if CrossFit is not your cup of tea or if you do not even know what CrossFit is. This is just one of many ways to honor our fallen Soldiers. However, if you are interested in trying these workouts, there are many modifications that can be made as a beginner! Whether it be a CrossFit workout, donating to the cause, or just taking a moment of silence, remember that these heroes are the reasons for our freedoms. These heroes are the reason we should wake up every day and find a way to better ourselves.

Below are the favorite Hero WODs (Workout of the Day) of some of our staff and board members, as well as links to an article on Hero WODs and a list of ones you can complete.
