Donald Hubbard Chairman
Don Hubbard brings 30 years of experience in law, finance and Program Management to the Stronger Warrior Foundation Board of Directors. After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 1979, Don served on Active Duty as an Assistant Platoon Leader and then Team Leader assigned to SEAL Teams 2 and 6. After his departure from Active Service, Don attended the University of Maryland School of Law and has since worked primarily in the infrastructure industry as an investment banker with Morgan Stanley (UK), UBS and Alex. Brown & Sons, and within operating companies including The AES Corporation. Currently, Don is the Head of LNG & Natural Gas Projects for InterEnergy Holdings (UK) Ltd, a developer, owner and operator of energy infrastructure projects throughout Latin America. In this capacity, Don is the project manager for the development, financing, construction and operations of the company’s LNG & Natural Gas projects. Most recently, Don was a Managing Director and the Head of Energy Infrastructure Investments for Barings Alternative Investments. Barings is a U.S.-based asset manager and wholly owned subsidiary of Mass Mutual and currently has over $300 billion AUM. Under his leadership, the Energy Infrastructure group invested in operating and development stage energy infrastructure assets including renewable and thermal power generation as well as midstream energy infrastructure assets. In his career, Don was also a Managing Director at The AES Corporation where he developed the company’s first Global Integrated Gas Program and was an executive in the AES Africa Power Company. In these capacities at AES, Don developed, financed and operated various assets in AES’s global portfolio. Prior to AES, Don was an investment banking professional with Morgan Stanley (UK), UBS (UK and US) and Alex. Brown & Sons where his focus was private and public equity and debt financings and mergers and acquisitions for companies in the infrastructure and technology industries. Don holds a B.Sc. degree from the United States Naval Academy and a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Maryland Law Review.
